Uzbekistan set to launch Central Asia’s first waste-to-biofuel plant

Laziz Kudratov, the Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, recently held a meeting with Elham Pourtangestani, CEO of Envirol, to discuss the establishment of Central Asia’s first waste-to-biofuel plant, set to be located in Uzbekistan.

The discussion focused on the potential impacts of this groundbreaking project, aiming to enhance environmentally sustainable energy practices in the country while promoting sustainable growth in the regional industrial sector.

Founded in 2006 in the vibrant city of Dubai, Envirol operates as a strategic joint venture with the Government of Dubai, specializing in advanced recycling processes for used oil. The company has an impressive capacity, exceeding 500,000 liters per day, and functions as a key subsidiary within the Alserkal Group portfolio.
