Uzbek Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov met with a high-level delegation from Qatari investment group Al Alfia Holding, led by special representative Zainab Al-Yusuf, on August 13, 2026, to advance joint commercial initiatives and evaluate new industrial ventures across Uzbekistan.
The strategic talks focused on transitioning ongoing investment proposals into active operational phases while establishing new manufacturing and infrastructure projects anchored in localized production and regional growth.
A major focus of the discussions centered on leveraging Uzbekistan’s domestic resource base and modern processing technologies to build out high-value industrial capacity:
Downstream Chemical Manufacturing: The sides outlined joint plans for the localized production of lubricants and specialized chemical formulations utilizing local raw material streams.
Oil & Gas Equipment Fabrication: The delegation evaluated initial proposals to establish domestic manufacturing facilities for oil and gas wellhead equipment to serve the expanding regional energy sector.
Beyond industrial manufacturing, the meeting addressed large-scale real estate and municipal infrastructure investments within the New Tashkent master plan. Proposed projects include commercial complexes, luxury hotel infrastructure, and modern logistics hubs designed to strengthen regional trade connectivity.
Following the conference, both parties agreed on a structured timeline for exchanging technical and project data to accelerate the implementation of the new Uzbek-Qatari investment pipeline.
The localization of energy sector equipment manufacturing, downstream chemical processing, and international investment partnerships across Central Asia will be central topics of discussion at the upcoming Downstream Central Asia and Caspian Summit
