Volker Rehrmann

EVP, Head of Tomra Recycling/Mining & Circular Economy

Volker Rehrmann is Executive Vice President and Head of TOMRA Sorting Solutions and Head of the Circular Economy Division. 

One of the pioneers in the development of optical systems for waste sorting applications, Volker started his career as an assistant professor for computer vision at the University of Koblenz.  

Before joining TOMRA in 2004, Volker founded technology sorting solutions company Real Vision Systems GmbH, which became part of TITECH in 2002 and was subsequently acquired by TOMRA. For many years, Volker oversaw technological innovations in the business and currently is accountable for the strategic direction of the recycling and mining businesses. In his role as Head of Circular Economy, his focus is to strengthen TOMRA’s role as a key player in the Circular Economy, currently working with organizations throughout the plastic value chain to ensure effective use of secondary resources.  

Volker Rehrmann received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Koblenz and has a Master’s in Computer Science from the University of Paderborn. He is a German native and is based in Koblenz, Germany.
