Nicolas Pothier

Nicolas Pothier is a Senior Director at FTI Consulting and is based in Paris, France, from where he is part of the Energy Project & Climate Finance team.

With over 11 years of professional experience, Nicolas has developed in-depth expertise in structuring complex financing transactions in the energy and infrastructure sectors, involving multiple stakeholders.

Through his work at Societe Generale, a global project finance house, in London and Paris, he financed and advised multiple projects ranging from LNG plants to offshore wind farms, interconnectors, and pipelines, especially in CEE (Germany, Poland, Romania, Greece, Albania).

He developed a specific expertise by advising sponsors for the financing of interconnectors, regulated energy transportation and distribution networks, and gas pipelines. He currently advises a major TSO on innovative financing solutions to expand the North Sea grid.

Throughout his career, he took part in many “market firsts,” for instance by financing one of the first Polish offshore wind farms or by advising the first-ever power link between Germany and the UK.
