István Pócs graduated from Eötvös Loránd University with a degree in Change Management, which he later completed with postgraduate studies in corporate finance at the Budapest University of Economics and recently with the Energy MBA at the University of Vienna.
With previous experience at MOL Group, he started in the renewable energy sector in 2011 at Central European Geothermal Energy Production Ltd., as Chief Executive Officer. He was also responsible for stakeholder management – liaising with professional bodies, government and shareholders.
In 2018, he joined Pannon Green Ltd., initially as Chief Operation Officer, then as the Chief Business Development Officer focused on their solar PV portfolio. Under his leadership, the company has developed more than 30 successful solar power projects, many of which have been built in-house. Previously he also worked at Climate-KIC, where the focus was on carbon-neutral value chains and zero-waste systems.
He has been working at EDP Renewables (Euronext: EDPR) since 2021. He started as Business Development Lead and was responsible for new markets deals origination; mainly focusing on the CIS region & Balkan. At the beginning of 2022 he became the Deputy Country Manager of EDPR Hungary, and, since September 2022, he has held the position of Country Manager for the country.
