LanzaTech

Greg Archer recently joined LanzaTech as European Policy Director focusing on ensuring regulations in the EU and UK reward its innovative carbon recycling technology and create a circular carbon economy. LanzaTech turns waste gases from industrial processes into valuable products using the power of biology and has developed an alcohol to jet technology for producing Sustainable Aviation Fuels.  During a career spent influencing and making environmental policy Greg has worked in every sector from academia and consultancy, government, NGOs and now business shaping policies and regulations in topics as diverse as vehicles and fuels, chemicals, air pollution and energy. Amongst notable achievements Greg led the development of the world’s first national carbon and sustainability certification scheme for biofuels in the UK. Formally Clean Vehicles and UK Director at the NGO Transport and Environment (T&E) he played a leading role exposing the breadth of the dieselgate scandal and strengthening vehicle testing in the EU to prevent a reoccurrence. He also led several successful campaigns for strong car CO2 regulations that are now driving the shift to electric vehicles in Europe. A pragmatic environmentalist he is known for his grasp of the detail and forthright views on solutions to the climate crisis.
