Gert Coun

Gert has 35-years’ experience in the polymer industry. He was involved in R&D, Technical Service, Marketing and New Business Development in flexible & rigid packaging, Industrial Film, Building & Construction, Consumer Goods. He gathered specific expertise in developing sustainable solutions in food, cosmetic & hygienic packaging.

He currently manages circular projects in the packaging & medical value chain based on SABIC TRUCIRCLE™ solutions. He is deeply involved in the launch of SABIC ‘s most recent solutions based certified bio-based & circular polyolefins.

He also manages several closed loop initiatives by using used plastics as new feedstock to produce new polymers for advanced applications. He is also focal point for coordinating circular projects with hospitals while leveraging the potential of advanced recycling.
