Fabian Fischer

Dr. Fabian Fischer studied chemistry at Leibniz University Hannover with a subsequent doctorate in technical chemistry. After completing his doctorate, Dr. Fischer dealt with the topic of lightweight construction and set up a department for "laser processing of fiber composites" at the Laser Zentrum Hannover.

He then took over the departments of adhesive bonding technology, beam technology and fiber composites at the Technical University of Braunschweig and then worked closely with Volkswagen AG for the first time. In 2015, Dr. Fischer took over the manufacturing technologies division in Group Research – now Group Innovation – with a focus on lightweight materials and manufacturing technologies for large-scale automobiles and is now responsible for the material classes biomaterials and polymers in Group Innovation and thus for all topics related to plastics recycling within Group Innovation of Volkswagen AG.
