Dharmendra Umarnani is an experienced techno-commercial leader with 17+ years of experience in Process, downstream & upstream oil & gas industry. He joined Shell (NAM B.V.) in 2013 as an experienced hire for UK SNS projects and lead various upstream projects as Project TA2 Electrical and Project engineer. He played an instrumental role in Leman Compression , Clipper Living quarters, Bacton rejuvenation project, Microgrid projects in SNS regions. He also worked as a lead electrical engineer for Bacton site operations and maintenance team. He joined Shell New energies as a Project Manager in 2018 and delivered Shell’s first large scale battery storage in Bacton and many more projects such as TUAS solar, Sonnen retail project, Kivits rooftop solar. He also worked as a Business Opportunity Manager on various battery opportunities. He played an instrumental role in Europe’s largest battery operated by Shell in UK.
Dharmendra joined as a GKA lead for Process industries in Dec’2021 and leading various process industry collaborations and partnerships. His focus is to work with Key customers /partners to develop long term strategic partnerships in decarbonisation and clean energy technology/products.
Prior joining Shell, he started his career in Jamnagar Refinery in India for Reliance Industries in 2004. He also worked for major EPC’s such as Fluor, Foster Wheeler on various grassroot, brownfield refineries, chemical plants. He was seconded to Ineos refinery and BP Kinneil gas terminal and led various projects.
He is skilled in Electrification, Energy Storage, Solar PV, EV charging, PPA’s, CHP’s, Energy Auditing, Energy Management and Grid Ancillary services for EU markets. Dharmendra holds a Hons. degree in electrical engineering and he is a Chartered electrical engineer (IET) , Certified energy Manager (AEE) and MBA in operations.
Dharmendra is currently based in UK and live with his young family. He enjoys playing Table Tennis and Chess.
