The Omsk Refinery has completed the installation of main equipment at the new primary oil refining complex

The Omsk Refinery, owned by Gazprom Neft, has completed the installation of its main operating equipment at the primary oil refining complex, Neftegaz.ru reports.

The company plans to complete construction of the complex in 2021. Its capacity will amount to 8.4 mn tonnes of oil per year. The investment in the project amounted to RUB 50 billion.

Volgogradneftemash and AEM-technologies manufactured the columns for atmospheric and vacuum oil refining. As of today, the development of all basements and reinforced concrete constructions have been completed, and underground engineering networks have been installed. Pipeline and automated control systems installation is in progress.

The new primary oil refining unit will become the most modern of its kind in Russia. The project applies several advanced environmental solutions - in particular, constant atmospheric impact monitoring. A closed system of equipment drainage designed for the project will make it possible to transfer oil products to refining.

Oleg Belyavsky, General Director of the Omsk Refinery

Total investment in the Omsk refinery modernization program exceeds RUB 300 billion.

The refining depth at the Omsk refinery increased to 91% and the output of light petroleum products to 71% as a result of the modernization. By 2021, following the second stage of modernization, the refining depth will reach 97%.
