The IOC polymer plant project has passed a public hearing

The project of Irkutsk Polymer Plant (IPP) of the Irkutsk Oil Company (IOC) was approved at a public hearing in the Ust-Kut district, Rupec reports.

The plant will create 1,200 jobs, and 7,000 people will be involved in the construction phase. The amount of the investment is estimated at 168 billion rubles. Gross regional product of the Irkutsk region will increase by 4% after the launch of the complex.

In February 2019, IOC signed a contract with Toyo Engineering Corporation for construction of an ethylene and polyethene plant with a capacity of 650 thousand tonnes per year.
