Sibur and Gazprom evaluate feasibility of joint gas refinery in Tatarstan

Sibur and Gazprom have conducted a feasibility study on a joint gas processing plant in Tatarstan and are currently analyzing the results, according to Dmitry Konov, Chief Executive Officer of Sibur – TASS

Mr Konov noted that investments in the project would largely depend on the final configuration of the gas refinery, and that Nipigas (part of Sibur holding), under a contract with Gazprom, is currently carrying out an engineering survey of the Novy Urengoy Gas Chemical Complex in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Region, defining necessary configurations and extensions.

Gazprom and Sibur agreed on two roadmaps on cooperation in the implementation of large investment projects in the field of gas processing and gas conversion at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) in 2019.

The first roadmap envisages the completion of feasibility studies for projects involving the transportation of ethane-containing gas from deposits in the Nadym-Pur-Taz region and the construction of a gas processing plant in Tatarstan.

The second roadmap deals with diagnostics, engineering research, and construction cost estimates required for the completion of the Novy Urengoy Gas Chemical Complex project in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Region.
