Reconstruction of primary oil refining unit at Komsomolsky Refinery

Komsomolsky Refinery, part of Rosneft’s oil refining complex has completed the reconstruction of one of the main primary oil refining units - ELOU-AVT-3, according to a company statement.

The modernisation works will increase the yield of light petroleum products and vacuum gas oil, as well as the quality of tar and the efficiency of the delayed coking unit, for which tar is a raw material. The list of works included the replacement of internal contact devices on the columns of the atmospheric and vacuum unit ELOU-AVT-3.

The company is implementing a major program to modernize its refineries valued at around RUB 1.5 trillion. Since the start of the program, 23 main installations and oil refining complexes have been built and reconstructed, allowing Rosneft to significantly increase the volume of production of motor fuels of the highest environmental class.

Currently, a large-scale project for the construction of a hydrocracking complex is taking place. After completion, these upgrades will make it possible to produce additional volumes of diesel fuel with a low sulphur content of the Euro-5 environmental standard. The construction of a hydrocracking complex is considered as the most crucial component of the company's program to modernize the plant's production.

The design capacity of the complex is 3.65 million tons per year. Its launch will allow the Komsomolsk Refinery to increase the depth of oil refining up to 92%.

Komsomolsky Refinery is the largest oil refinery in the Khabarovsk region and plays a key role in the supply of oil products to the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District. The product range of the enterprise includes over 20 items: high-octane gasolines and Euro-5 diesel fuel, environmentally friendly marine fuel and other oil products.
