Just in early September this year Sherwood Energy, registered in Hong Kong, has concluded an agreement with Russia’s Far East Agency for Investment and Export Support (ANO API) to develop a new gas project. The first stage of the project will be the production of 7.2 million metric tons of methanol per year at a site in the Russian Far East. The gas will be transported from fields in western Yakutia to Ayan via a new 1,200-kilometer pipeline carrying 20 billion cubic meters of gas a year.
INK plans to put the polymer plant on stream in 2023. Now, the company is working on extensive site preparation, while the design and procurement of equipment for the plant are underway. Toyo Engineering Corporation will render the services of coordination, planning and supervision of the construction of polymer plant to be located in the city of Ust-Kut, Irkutsk region. Japanese professionals will be dispatched to the construction site and will participate in construction management.
The complex will be processing ethane-containing gas, which will be supplied via allocated gas pipelines from Gazprom's deposits in the Nadym-Pur-Taz region. The operator of the complex is RusKhimAlyans, a special-purpose company owned on a parity basis by Gazprom and RusGazDobycha. A gas chemical facility technologically interconnected with the complex will be constructed by RusGazDobycha. It is planned that the complex will be producing ethylene and polyethylene.
Lukoil made an investment decision to create a polypropylene plant at the Nizhny Novgorod Refinery.
Gazprom’s Amur GPP will be one of the largest gas processing enterprises in the world. It will have the design capacity of 42 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The plant will comprise six process trains, two of which are planned to come online in 2021. In addition to natural gas, the GPP will produce ethane, propane, butane, pentane-hexane fraction, and helium.
SIBUR is developing a construction project for the Amur GCC, which will be technically affiliated with the Amur GPP. The increase in feedstock supplies will allow SIBUR to expand the design capacities of the GCC from 1.5 million tons of polyethylene to about 2.3 million tons of polyethylene and 400,000 tons of polypropylene.
