This working group was established in accordance with the memorandum of understanding signed by the President of Azerbaijan during his state visit to Uzbekistan in June 2022.

At the meeting, the implementation of the Roadmap signed in August 2022 to further expand mutual cooperation was considered, and the parties provided information on the work being done on each of its points.

The Roadmap includes the implementation of projects based on renewable energy sources and PPP, energy efficiency, electricity and heat generation, exploration at investment blocks, petrochemicals, localization of production, institutional reforms, exchange of experience in the field of personnel training.

Following the discussions, the implementation of work within the framework of the Roadmap was found to be satisfactory, and taking into account the expansion of areas of cooperation, the parties agreed to develop a new Roadmap and sign it during the expected visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan at the end of August.

Also at the meeting, draft documents on the intergovernmental agreement developed by the two ministries of energy, and agreements between Uzbekneftegaz and SOСAR were discussed.
