Linde and Renaissance Heavy Industries have signed an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract with Gazprom and its partners for a liquefied natural gas plant on the Baltic Sea according to an announcement by Gazprom. Construction of the large gas processing cluster commenced in May near the settlement of Ust-Luga on the Baltic Sea as a joint project in partnership with RusGazDobycha. It is expected that the cluster will become Russia’s largest gas processing facility and one of the largest in the world in terms of production volumes.

The complex is designed to annually process 45 billion cubic metres of natural gas, and produce 13 million tonnes of LNG, 3.6 million tonnes of ethane, and 1.8 million tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
