Halliburton Labs selects next clean energy cohort

US energy services giant subsidiary Halliburton Labs announced Thursday three new companies that will participate in its Clean Energy Accelerator — Chemergy, EVA and Novamera. - UpstreamOnline

The accelerator is one of a few in Houston, Texas, aimed at developing and scaling up companies and technologies supporting the clean energy value chain. Boston-based Greentown Labs opened a Houston location in 2021 to support climate technology start-ups.

We are excited to help accelerate three innovative companies that emerged from our recent Finalists Pitch Day. We will work closely with these founders and their teams to achieve strategic, operational and financial milestones with the most efficient use of their time and capital. In less than two years, we’ve established productive new relationships with 15 companies scaling solutions across a breadth of markets to expand our understanding of new value chains.

Chemergy uses a patented process to convert wet organic and plastic wastes into green hydrogen. The company hopes its product can be used to solve waste disposal issues in communities, as well as produce cleaner fuel.

EVA supports the drone industry by allowing customers to perform inspection and monitor operations remotely, without local manpower. The company said it is excited to Halliburton Labs to help accelerate its commercialisation.Article continues below the advert

Novamera’s proprietary navigation tools and software work with conventional large-diameter drilling equipment to extract ore and leave excess waste in the ground.

This intends to unlock value in certain mineral deposits that would be too small to be economic.

Halliburton Labs is now accepting applications for its next group of participants, due by 22 April for the 20 May Finalists Pitch Day.
