Belneftekhim will launch new pyrolysis at Polimir plant and ABS production at Naftan

Belorussian state company Belneftekhim plans to build a new pyrolysis line at Polimir plant, according to the strategy of the petrochemical complex development until 2030, Rupec reports.

The company does not report on the pyrolysis capacity and timing of its construction. The ABS plastic production project is planned to be implemented at the Naftan Refinery, where polycarbonate production will also be launched.

Also, as part of the strategy, the company plans to increase the production of mineral fertilizers at Grodno Azot and increase the capacity of the NPK-fertilizer at the Gomel Chemical Plant.

At the Mogilevkhimvolokno plant, it is planned to build the second phase of the polyester production complex. In 2019, the enterprise mastered the production of polyester fibre using new technology — two production lines were put into operation.

Implementing the strategy, Belneftekhim expects to overcome major risks associated with rising oil prices, as well as to ensure sustainable operation of all production facilities.
