During the meeting, the Kazakh company, Zhaik Petroleum, signed an EPC contract with the Chinese side. The contract stipulates the construction of a gas chemical complex for the production of methanol with a capacity of 130,000 tons in the West Kazakhstan oblast.

According to the department, it is planned to create about 500 jobs during the construction and installation phase, as well as 220 permanent jobs after the launch of the complex. The total cost of the project is $140 million.
The gas chemical complex is expected to be launched at the end of 2024. After launch, the ammonia and urea production phase of the project will begin, the cost of which will be $200 million.
The Kazakhstani side is ready to provide the necessary support for the successful realisation of the project.
