Farhad Mammadov is a seasoned professional in maritime law, public administration, and the energy sector, with over two decades of experience across national and international institutions.
He began his career at the State Maritime Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, where he held progressively senior leadership positions. By the end of 2021, he was appointed Deputy Director of the State Maritime Agency.
Following this role, Mr. Mammadov served as Advisor to the Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan until February 2025. Since February 2025, he has been serving as General Manager of the Green Energy Corridor Power Company — a joint initiative of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, and Hungary — headquartered in Bucharest, Romania. In this role, he contributes to major regional energy initiatives and cross-border infrastructure development.

Since November 2024, Sven Ernedal is the Manager of the GIZ programme “Renewable Energy in Central Asia” (RECA), Commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union.
Before joining RECA, he was Chief Technical Advisor for the GIZ Commercial and Industrial Rooftop Solar Project in Viet Nam in parallel to his duties as Director of the GIZ project “Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency” / “EU-Vietnam Energy Facility” (2018-21), co-financed by BMZ and the EU. He was responsible for the overall management, planning and implementation of all project activities and for the cooperation with international and local partners and providing policy advice in the areas of renewable energy and energy efficiency. He also led the Offshore Wind Development Task Force under the Technical Working Group 2 on Renewable Energy of the Viet Nam Energy Partnership Group (VEPG) since December 2022 and he worked as International Coordinator of the VEPG Secretariat from June 2021 to June 2022.
Prior to Vietnam, Sven worked as Programme Director of the GIZ Sustainable Energy Project in Tanzania for five years and as Programme Director for the GIZ Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Programmes in Mongolia for six years. Earlier, he worked both as the EU Co-Director for the EU-China Energy and Environment Programme and as First Secretary in the Cooperation Section of the EU Delegation in China. Sven holds a MSc degree in Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering from Linköping Institute of Technology in Sweden. He speaks Swedish, English, German and basic Mandarin.
