Moving from Continuous Improvement to a Well of Wisdom

At the Go Digital Energy 2024 conference, Egil Nybakk, Vice President of Projects at AkerBP, discussed the challenges and innovations in integrating robotics and digitalization in the oil and gas industry.

He highlighted the Performinator project, aimed at automating drill handling to enhance safety and efficiency, despite facing delays and complexities. Nybakk emphasized the importance of aligning such projects with strategic goals and fostering cross-departmental collaboration. He also introduced the MIMIR initiative, which combines human insights with Generative AI to utilise past project learnings for future improvements, drawing inspiration from Norse mythology to underscore the value of wisdom gained through experience.
