SIBUR attending Downstream Project Management conference

Representatives of Russia’s largest petrochemicals player - SIBUR, are going to join us in Brussels this year at the annual Downstream Project Management conference to discuss the whole project cycle value chain, practical case studies and best practises related to project management.

SIBUR has extensive and successful experience completing major petrochemical projects on time and on budget. Currently, the company is working on a number of growth projects, including "ZapSibNeftekhim" Project, AMUR GCC Project and Development of Butyl Rubber Production via JV with Reliance Industries.

The company is expecting to fully commission its 8 billion euro ZapSibNeftekhim project in Tobolsk, Siberia, by the end of the year, moving from test production to commercial volumes. After launching production at full capacity, the petrochemical complex will produce 1.5 million tons of ethylene per year. The company will become the largest in terms of polymer production in Russia. This project plays an important role in substituting 85–95% (depending on the product) of current polymer imports – mainly from China and Europe.

The Amur Gas Chemical Complex (GCC) project is set to build one of the largest in the world gas chemical facilities in the Svobodnensky District and is certain to attract new technologies to the region, whilst also contributing to high-tech production and promoting Russia's non-commodity exports. The target markets are China and Southeast Asia, where the demand is growing rapidly.

At our conference, Aleksey Ioffe (Project Manager, Reseach and Development) is going to share his view on the future of petrochemicals in Europe and CIS region by participating in the Project Owners Panel Discussion.
