A global offshore drilling company Seadrill selected Tata Consultancy Services, a leading global IT services, consulting, and business solutions organisation for maintaining its global digital infrastructure.
It is planned that, Tata Consultancy Services will support Seadrill’s global IT operations across the business, on its mobile offshore drilling rigs as well as its onshore locations, and will provide local support services.
The software products developed by Tata Consultancy Services were the key factor in the Seadrill’s selection process. One of such products is ignio™, which enables smarter and faster decision making, with first-time-right identification of probable causes of outages in a matter of minutes. This solution also removes silos across business units, enables automation of 80% of routine IT tasks, and predicts future incidents with over 90% accuracy. Besides all that, ignio™ also automates repetitive tasks, allowing employees to focus on more strategic and innovative work.
“This is an exciting new partnership for Seadrill, and we look forward to working with TCS. Their approach to leveraging key digital technologies such as ignio, and their MFDM Framework, positioned them above the competition and aligns well to our overall long-term strategic digital transformation roadmap, drives continuous improvements and assists us to meet our business goals.” – said Eelco Ringeling, CIO, Seadrill.
“We are consistently driving digital transformation for our customers in the energy and resources industry and are excited to partner with Seadrill to support their digital innovation agenda. Our Business 4.0™ framework is gaining traction, and industry leaders are making massive investments in disruptive technologies to accelerate business growth,” – said Debashis Ghosh, Business Group Head, Energy & Resources, Tata Consultancy Services.
