Acron Group launched a new nitric acid unit at its site in Veliky Novgorod. The capacity of the facility reaches 135 thousand tons per year.
The updated investment programme of the group involves the construction of two nitric acid units at the site of PJSC Acron.
“With the commissioning of the new unit, the production capacity of nitric acid will be 1.65 million tons per year. After the second unit is commissioned, which is scheduled to start in mid-2019, the total capacity of all units will be 1.8 million tons per year, which will allow in the future to increase the output of the main products – ammonium nitrate, CAS and NPK “, – commented the Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC Akron Alexander Popov.
The General Designer is LLC Novgorod GIAP (group enterprise). Investments exceed 2 billion roubles.
With the launch of the new unit, PJSC Acron will reach the best performance on ammonia consumption in the CIS countries. It is noted that the use of a highly efficient gas turbine unit GTU-8 will save more than 4.3 million cubic meters of natural gas per year. In addition, the replacement of expensive catalyst grids will be made twice as rare – only once a year.
The first production of nitric acid, which is used to obtain mineral fertilizers, in Veliky Novgorod were launched in the 70s of the last century.
Acron Group includes PJSC Acron (Veliky Novgorod), PJSC Dorogobuzh (Smolensk Region), JSC North-Western Phosphoric Company (GOK Oleniy Ruchey in the Murmansk Region) and CJSC Verkhnekamsk Potash Company (company implements a project to build a potash mine in the Perm region, with Akron – 60.1%).
